If you were wondering why I wasn’t really active or posting much on my blog or Instagram this past few weeks, it’s simply because I was away on vacation and I just got back 🙂
This post will totally be dedicated to my amazing trip down south to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
I was one of those people who never had the chance to visit an island or experience an all-inclusive resort. And I finally did (thanks to my awesome love for the very unexpected gift!) and I loved every minute of it! 🙂
The ‘happy vibe’ that surround you as soon as you step out of your plane is incredible! Every local I met, throughout the week, had a smile on their faces and greeted you with a ‘Hola!’ every time they passed you by. I have never seen anything like this before and I was blown away. Life is so simple there.
The weather was very warm and humid (high 30s+ celsius) and the sun was shining every day… no rain in the forecast! The white sandy beach and turquoise water was simply amazing and breathtaking. I have never seen beautiful and clear water like this in my entire life!
For this kind of trip, I learned a few things when packing my suitcase:
- High heels are cute, but the relaxed and vacation vibe of the island made me lean towards flat sandals more often (even on evenings);
- Flowy shorts are a must for daytime or nighttime;
- Cute dresses are essentials as double-duty pieces:
- A few bathing suits are not negotiable;
- A hat – always.

This tropical print dress is my favourite when worn as a cover up: the short sleeves are great to keep you sheltered from the sun and the light fabric keeps you cool. Add a straw hat and voilà, you are all set! And how about that green print? What’s not to love 🙂

Back to reality this week – I have to admit, I am having a hard time getting back into my work routine. But, I am still smiling from all those memories I made, new friends I met and the most important thing is, I am already planning my next trip 😉
