NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2020 (part. 1)

Ok.

So I went to my city’s Nordstrom store the day it was finally open to the public (for us Canadians) and here’s my thought on this year’s collection: disappointing.

I was so prepared for this year’s collection, so excited for a few items that I was eyeing on the American website and I had high hopes to find it in my store but unfortunately no.

I feel like this year, with Covid, we got the end of the stick. We didn’t even have half of what I thought we would have and not even on the website which launched the following day.

Although I was a little bummed that my favourite pieces were not there (in-store or online), I still managed to find fun pieces that I actually liked! Yay!

And also, I know that my Nordstrom did not get everything the day of the opening, I am still secretly hoping that I will find the pieces I was interested in. Because, let’s face it, Nordstrom take out more pieces as the sale goes on. And I look forward to this sale every year because it’s soooo good!

I will go back to check out the new additions shortly but in the meantime, here’s a little try-on and cool finds that I managed see in-store and online for you to shop this incredible sale!

Let’s jump right into it!

I hit up the beauty department first because I was excited to see what my store had in store (see what I did there? HA!) and was quite pleased with the selection of items we had. Most of the beauty sets I saw on the American website were available for us Canadians so I was pretty happy about it!

My favourite ones were obviously the Charlotte Tilbury Secrets Sets. The Beauty Secrets for Glowing Skin Set comes with three skincare products and is priced at $95 CND ($75 USD) and the Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set has a lip pencil, a lipstick and a lipgloss for only $75 CND ($68 USD)! They are sooo amazing for the price! If you haven’t tried Charlotte Tilbury’s products yet but didn’t want to splurge, this is the perfect time to try this high end brand without breaking the bank! They are great value sets and I highly recommend it 🙂

Also, Mario Badescu is all the rage right now so the Jumbo Skincare Kit for $39 CND ($30 USD) and the Essential Kit for $30 ($23 USD) make really cute gifts!

ABH’s brow products have always been my fave so when I saw the Brow Bae-sics Brow Kit for only $36 I was in awe! Unfortunately, it is sold out at the moment.

If you are a MAC lover like me, this brand always has the cutest lip sets! And since this is a Canadian brand, I just couldn’t help myself!

The first lip set I spotted was the Love Me Lip Kit. The neutral colours are gorgeous and the set contains a lip pencil, a bullet lipstick and a lipglass… all in neutral tones for only $47 CDN ($35 USD).

The second lip set was just too cute not to share… the Haute Gossip Mini Lipstick Kit has 5 different mini lipsticks in neutral shades for $45 CDN ($32.50 USD).

Perfect colours for fall 🙂

My second stop was definitely the women’s clothing department. These items are the ones that get sold out the fastest. It was completely different from the previous years… everything was in one location as opposed to sale items being in different sections throughout the store.

This is where I got the most bummed out. The selection was not as great as previous years (and not nearly as good as our American friends) and some items were already sold out even though the store just opened!? Uhm.

But, despite my big disappointment, I still managed to find cute things to try-on like this frill cuff long sleeve dress (only plus sizes left at the moment) in a leopard print which I am absolutely obsessed with! The price is ridiculous (under $40) and it will be my new go-to dress to transition into fall! I’ve also styled it with an open stitch long cardigan that comes in three more colours.

Love love love!

And then, the sweaters. My favourite thing during the Nsale is to shop for cozy sweaters to wear in the fall. Again, this year, not that great of a selection but I was super excited to see we had that Leopard Print Cozy V-neck Sweater (love this style too). Oh em gee… how soft it is! Also, tie-dye is still going strong for fall so this blue & black little number was super comfy and this green-ish hoodie is super cool!

I’ve styled all my sweaters with Faux Leather Leggings which were only $28!

**NOTE: Unfortunately, some of these sweaters are sold out online so I can’t link them. If they become available, I will update my post 🙂

And, I saved the best for last…. shoes.

Every year, I look forward to the shoe selection and I was quite happy with what my store had in stock!

These Steve Madden Chain Pointed Toe Mule are all the rage right now and they are so comfortable! I’m also obsessed with these Madewell Remi Mule in pink that were only $70 ($49.90 USD). Big trend for fall!

And what can I say about the ankle boots… Nordstrom always have the best ones during the sale! Love these Steve Madden Kaylah Pointed Toe Booties that comes in two different colours & a snake print and those Hunter Boots (original ones).

They are the perfect neutrals to add to your fall wardrobe!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and stay tuned for my round #2 of the Nsale… I will go back again and see if they got items restocked or new ones added! I’ll keep you posted.

Have a lovely week and I’ll see you in my next one! XO
