MY TOP 5 WINTER FASHION FAVOURITES

Winter is here.

You either like it or you don’t. Some live in a snow globe (like me!) with blizzards, snowstorms, ice pellets, freezing rain… some great cocktail mix which makes it harder to always be fashionable & stylish when Mother Nature is not always cooperating.

Winter can be quite a difficult season when it comes to fashion and outfits. Everything is just a bit more complicated and people can be less motivated to create fun looks.

So, I found my favourite key pieces for winter that will keep you warm without compromising on style!

In this post, I will share with you my TOP 5 Winter Fashion Favourites & Must Haves in your wardrobe this season.

Ready? Let’s jump right in!

**Note: all the prices are in USD & CND

RUFFLE SWEATER | FINE-KNIT SWEATER | HOODIE | RIB-KNIT TURTLENECK | BOUCLÉ COAT | SATIN TUNIC | TEDDY COAT | PASTEL NAIL POLISH SET | EYESHADOW PALETTE | SATIN SKIRT | HEADBAND | WHITE BOOTS | MIDI SKIRT | WHITE COMBAT BOOTS

#1 – OVERSIZED SWEATER

The oversized sweater made it’s first appearance in the early fall of last year with exaggerated sleeves, frills and looooots of volume. It’s quite an in-your-face style and it’s definitely not for the fashion-shy types but I think they really add that extra flair to an outfit and I love it.

Of course, when you wear something quite voluminous on top, your bottom half needs to be more on the fitted side to keep everything proportionate. For example: a pencil skirt works really well or high waisted skinny jeans would also look great.

Just keep in mind: volume on top, slim on the bottom.

#2 – SATIN/SILK

This trend comes and goes with the years but the satin skirt really made a huge impact last spring/summer. Because satin is very soft & feminine, I would keep the rest of my outfit neutral and simple to let the delicate fabric stand out and take centre stage.

Satin blouses also made a huge comeback during the Holidays and will stay with us going into spring so I’m pretty excited about that!

Also, silk headbands and scrunchies are also pretty popular right now and it’s a great way to try this trend and wear a touch of it in your daily looks.

#3 – PASTEL

If you have been following me for a while, you know how much l love my colours and prints. I also looooove pastel colours. It screams spring to me and since it is my favourite season of all time, it definitely makes my heart sing!

This winter, pastel colours are everywhere from makeup to sweaters and I can’t be more happy about it! It instantly takes your outfit into spring mode and who doesn’t like sorbet colours?

So if you love soft hues, you are in luck this winter. And, these colours are also perfect to transition into spring! So, pick up your favourite item right now, you’ll thank me later.

#4 – TEDDY COAT

The big fluffy coat that looks like a teddy bear and is super soft and cozy.

I have to admit that it took me a while to pull the plug on this trend because I couldn’t find a coat that was up to my taste so I was just waiting to find the perfect one for me. And I found it.

There are so many different styles, colours and lengths out there, there are many options to choose from! Another great option (if the teddy is too much for you) is the bouclé coat which is an in-between a teddy and a felt coat.

#5 – WINTER WHITE

I love wearing white in the winter.

There is something about it that makes me feel pure and wintery. Some would argue that you cannot wear white after Labour Day or Thanksgiving but I completely disagree. There are many different shades of white but I think the most appropriate one for winter is a little more subdued… like a pearl white, a greyge or an off-white.

Nothing better than a great off-white knit or sweatshirt paired with your favourite denim to keep you warm and stylish in the middle of January!

Also, I love the white boot trend like the grunge combat boots or the white block heels. Of course, getting a pair now would also be a great choice to transition into spring.

There you have it friends!

This sums up my favourite fashion must-haves for the winter season.

Hope you enjoyed it and I will see you in my next one! XO
