It was all over social media, fashion magazines and the runway this season: mixing red & pink together in one outfit. I have seen models, actresses and even influencers getting on with this trend and sporting those vibrant colours together. But my question was: can a ‘normal’ person pull it off on a day-to-day basis?
As a good influencer, of course, I had to give it a try myself to find out if:
1. the colours actually worked together for me;
2. I liked the idea of mixing those colours together for everyday life;
3. I would I actually wear them in one attire.
I have created 3 looks with budget friendly pieces and found everything under $100 and linked it all for you ladies to make it easy to shop right there and then 🙂
Some of the garments I wore in the photo shoots are unfortunately sold-out so I have found similar styles that I’ve linked below for budget friendly outfits with a bang!
Shall we start? 🙂
OUTFIT #1: JUST A TOUCH

In the first outfit, I wanted to show you that a little colour goes a long way. If mixed and matched with a neutral (in this case denim) it adds a casual and laid back flair to the outfit. The satin blouse is really bold and colourful but toned down with denim, it looks cute and appropriate for a casual Friday look for the office or a girls night out.
I added some pointy red shoes to complete this outfit but you could also wear a neutral shoe to make the blouse stand out on it’s own.

I found similar pumps and a similar blouse
that works really well for this look. Also, these jeans
are pretty amazing!
OUTFIT #2: WORK IT

The second outfit is perfect workwear: a red blouse, a pink pencil skirt and I have added some leopard printed shoes to make it even more fun! 😉 You could also do a black or neutral pump to tone the outfit down a bit. I have to admit that this look is a little ‘out there’ but I think it looks very fun and still professional.
If that’s a bit too much for you, there is always the option of doing a neutral top or bottom to make the look a little less bold.

These similar leopard pumps are pretty awesome and similar to mine! I also found this pink pencil skirt
that would be super cute with the rest of the ensemble.
OUTFIT #3: WEEKEND VIBE

The last outfit is a go-to for the weekend: a short skirt paired with an oversized t-shirt and converse. Comfort and style, what’s not to love? I also added a little pink cross-body bag into the mix and turquoise earrings to finish the look. Again, if it’s too bold for you, opt for neutrals to soften the look.
