For those of you who are not aware, Nordstrom is having their big Anniversary Sale right now (July 20 – August 5) and it’s their biggest sale event of the year!
So ladies, this sale is all brand new arrivals (clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty, home…) at super sale prices so basically, it’s Christmas in July 🙂 After the 2 week sale period is over (August 6), everything will go back up at regular price. So if you are thinking of finding a new cardigan or cute booties for fall, this is the time to hit Nordstrom! You will save a ton of money and start a new fall wardrobe with budget friendly prices.
At first, I did my research and looked at the new collection coming out but wasn’t too excited about anything in particular. Nothing I desperately wanted to check out. So, I made my way to my local Nordstrom (Ottawa, Canada) with an open mind and ended up finding some cute pieces that I absolutely love!
This post will be dedicated to my fitting room try ons (I actually went more than once ;-)): what came home with me and what didn’t make the cut and why. I will also do a try on haul at home this week on instastory to show you guys how everything fits 🙂

1. T-SHIRT

This tee is a must in everyone’s wardrobe for fall. Perfect for layering under cardigans and blazers, the fabric is super soft and so comfortable… I didn’t even wanted to take it off! 😉 It comes in a bunch of different colours and it’s under 20$. Stock up on these babies because they are truly a steal and get sold-out very fast!

This plaid shirt is sooooo soft, it’s unbelievable! It comes in 4 different colours and I wanted to buy them all! 🙂 This amazing shirt is under 50$ and I recommend sizing down as it’s made rather big (I’m wearing XS for reference).
I’ve purchased the yellow the first day of the sale because I thought the colour was so different and I didn’t have anything like this in my wardrobe. The colour is so bright and fun you can wear it on chilly summer days with distressed denim shorts (like I did in the photo) or later during fall with denim jeans or leggings and a nice pair of booties.
Perfect look for a casual fall day. LOVE IT!

3. STRIPED SWEATER

I saw this sweater online before I went to my store and I honestly wasn’t that excited about it. I decided to try it on anyway because I like yellow and I am kind of obsessed with this colour right now and I was surprised how much I liked it!
It’s soft, not heavy and I love the colour combo. It’s TTS (I suggest buying your normal size) and under 50$! It’s a great neutral and addition to your sweater collection!

Ok ladies. Have you ever seen a sweatshirt THIS CUTE? Seriously, I am in love! The frilly sleeves is what really caught my eye in the first place. I also love anything red so the floral design was a plus for me! This sweatshirt is not cheap – even if it’s on sale. It retails for just under 100$. I found the fit to be rather on the small size so I suggest sizing up for a comfortable wear.
5. LACE-UP CAMI

This cami was all over social media so of course, when I saw it in store, I needed to give it a try. The teal colour is beautiful and the ruffle detailing is super cute. The only thing I was hesitating before committing to it was how low the ‘décolletée’ was on me. I mean, you can’t really wear a bra (even strapeless!) because you end up seeing it anyway (as showed in my photos). So, how do you wear it is still my question and that’s the reason why it did not make the cut for me. It’s also not cheap – around 50$ with the sale price and I had to go up a size. Even then, I still felt it was tight in some places. That being said, it also comes in a gorgeous lavender purple colour. I wanted to like this top but the fit was totally off.

6. FLORAL DRESS

This dress looked super cute online and in store but when I tried it on, it was a total disappointment. I love the floral print and the bow neck-tie but the shape of this dress was a little odd – and for 100$ sale price, I didn’t love it. I thought about maybe belting it but, it didn’t really work. I am wearing a small in the photo for reference and it was huge on me. This dress was a no go.
7. FLORAL BLOUSE

I am always obsessed with a cute floral print so when I saw this blouse in the Anniversary Sale rack, I quickly grabbed my size and added it to my fitting room pile. The choice of colours for this blouse is to die for: coral, red, yellow, pink and a splash of green. It is actually very pretty! And the frilly sleeves are super cute! I found the blouse to be TTS and you can style this blouse in multiple ways, the possibilities are endless! From office attire to casual dinner on the weekend, I really think this piece is versatile! And the best part is, it’s under 50$.
8. LONG SLEEVE TEE & LEGGINGS

This basic tee is a must for your fall wardrobe! It’s perfect for layering under a cardigan or a leather jacket 🙂 This tee is a similar version of the short sleeve tee (shown in my first photo) but instead of having a raw v-neck, this one has a pocket and a rounder neckline. It fits TTS but you can always go up a size if you want to wear it a little looser. I am wearing a small for reference and the price is a steal under 25$! It comes in a bunch of colours (white, light grey, black&white stripes and brown&black stripes) but I think they are getting sold-out very fast.

These leggings (shown in the photo above) are really great for an everyday wear or lounging around the house. The material is quite rigid so I don’t think I would work out in those leggings simply because I feel they are thick. They are definitely TTS and I wouldn’t recommend sizing up as they will stretch over time. They come in black, grey and burgundy. These leggings are not cheap but with the sale are under 50$.

I love this sweater! It’s light and airy so it’s perfect for the beginning of fall when the temperature drops. I went back twice to try on that sweater but it was sold-out in my size the second time around. I sized down because it’s made quite big but could have gotten my regular size too. I love the yellow but it comes in different colours like blue, grey and even pink! Great transitional sweater for under 40$.
10. LONG CARDIGAN

This cardigan is amazing! It’s super cute to wear over a long sleeve tee (like I did in the photo) and the colour is like a nice camel colour. It goes with everything! It’s pretty much TTS but you can size down or up depending on how you like your fit. I am planning on wearing mine over leggings, jeans and even a dress during fall! It looks super cute with a leopard bag and slides 🙂 This cardigan is a steal (under 40$) and comes in black and also teal. Get it before it’s all sold-out!

I am totally in love with this bag! I’ve always loved a good leopard print for accessories and when I saw this bag in-store, my heart just stopped! There are different versions of this bag depending on what your store carry (metal chain, leather chain, clutch) but honestly, they all look great! This bag is sold-out at my store unfortunately but you can pick up a leopard bag almost anywhere, right? I have linked a similar style of the same brand 🙂

This cardi is super soft and comfy too and I love the rust colour! 🙂 This one doesn’t have any pockets and it’s made of ribbed material. The collar is sort of like a wrap for extra warmth. So chic! I am wearing a small in the photo above and fits TTS. This one is bit more than the BP. one but with the sale, it’s 60$. It also comes in a teal colour, a minty green and a beige. I have linked a similar style from the same brand as I think perhaps it’s already sold-out online.
11. TOTE BAG

It’s spacious and has enough room to put a tablet or a aptop, and everything you need for your everyday life! There is also a little bag inside attached to the inside of the bag so you can either put your phone or perhaps a wallet so it stays separated from the rest of your things. I chose this beautiful mauve colour (sold-out in my store!) but it also comes in a nice taupe. The price is quite good with the sale (60$) but will definitely hit the low hundreds after the sale ends soon!

This is probably my favourite look of the whole try-on sessions I have done for the Anniversary Sale. Seriously, how cute is this blazer? You can definitely dress it up with a nice pair of dark denim and heels for work or dress it down with ripped denim and booties for a casual look! Endless possibilities! The combination of colour is AMAZING and the fit is TTS. I have to say it’s a bit pricey even with the sale price but will go even higher after the sale is over. It also comes in navy blue.
13. FRILLY PRINT DRESS

Ok. Where do I start. I am in love with this dress. I saw it the first day but the price is quite high (over 100$) so I just brought it with me to ‘try it’ just to see and oh em gee it is so beautiful! The colour of this dress is so unique and it makes me think of fall leaves so I really liked it! The dress is super flattering but it’s made a bit small so I had to go up a size. The shoulders are a bit too big because of the sizing up but you can always take it to a seamstress and have it taken in for it to be perfect. 😉 At that price, I think it’s worth it! There are so many ways you can style this dress, my mind is completely blown. Love everything about this dress 🙂

So many great finds, so many unique pieces, my mind is completely blown with multiple looks I can acutally make with these beautiful pieces.
This was my second year shopping the Nsale and it was BY FAR the best year ever!
Hurry up as it ends on August 5 because come August 6, the prices will go back up again to their regular price (yikes!).
