For the love of velvet

Happy New Year everyone! 🙂

To start off 2018 with a bang, I have decided to write about a fabric I thought I would hate but actually fell in love with. It’s so in right now that different pieces of clothing are showing up in this fabulous fabric: dresses, pants, tops, blazers and even shoes.

When I think about velvet, I think about royalty: velour furniture, drapes, gowns, etc… glamourous and elegant. But in 2017-2018, the designers really made this luxourious and sultry fabric very wearable and trendy. I first started trying this trend by buying a pair of velvet booties (check my post on my best purchases of 2017 for reference), followed by a sweater and last but not least, a dress.

I am super obsessed with this dress! I think it’s so beautiful! It has a washed out multicoloured floral print and a cute little open back adorned with a lace belt. I wore it with velvet booties (my fave ones!) and it complemented the dress fabulously!

I am planning on wearing this dress again and again on different occasions. I can’t get enough of it! It’s super elegant and trendy and has the most beautiful dark winter floral print ever!
