Kimono Style

The Kimono trend was so confusing to me at first. I wasn’t sure if this trend was really for me or even if I wanted to try it.  I have to admit that I thought it looked kinda silly… like you would be stepping outside of your house in your pyjamas! Who would want to look like that?

Until, I started browsing online and in stores at the beginning of Spring and was seeing kimonos everywhere: longer version with sleeves or shorter version with bell sleeves, with a tie belt or without… after analysing how I could style a kimono and finally starting to like the look, I had a feeling this trend would be HUGE this Spring. And I was right.

What I really like about kimonos for Spring/Summer is that they are so versatile: you can dress them up or down in a flash. For a more dressed up look, you can wear your kimono over a short fitted dress with block heels sandals or, throw it over distressed denim shorts and a tank top and it makes your outfit more casual and weekend ready. Voilà! The possibilities are endless!

In the pictures below, I wore mine over leggings and a t-shirt for a perfect casual weekend look!
